Gregory B. Washington is the organizing pastor of Abiding Faith Baptist Church and Mission,. He was called to the preaching Ministry in 1976 and, licensed to preach at the Broadview Baptist Chapel in Broadview, IL in March of 1977. He was ordained in August of 1995 at Mt. Vernon MB Church, and served as pastor at Good Samaritan MB Church in Kansas City, MO from July, 1997 until January, 2011.
Biblical preaching, Church administration, administering of sacraments, congregational counseling, appointing of staff serving in the congregation and Christian education oversight are the pastor’s responsibility. The pastor also conducts, coordinates, and/or oversees all administrative staff and duties, auxiliaries, business meetings, congregational ceremony and worship, and prayer and teaching. Pastor Washington’s vision for Abiding Faith can be summed up in the following statement:
“I pray that we will worship and uplift God, and thereby grow spiritually in our discipleship and stewardship. Through our worship of God and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit we can then evangelize this world and reach out to the spiritually lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ'”
